Welcome to footballthinking.com

Footballthinking.com is a new football blog based on thoughts and opinions on the game – players, tactics etc – rather than more mainstream focuses like transfer rumours. Although I will mention transfers if any seemingly reliable information comes up – ie Podolski’s transfer to Arsenal seems pretty much nailed on and so would be fair game for a player profile or something similar – transfer talk on this site will be almost completely restrained to evaluating teams and highlighting areas I think need strengthening.

Posts will include my views on both players and teams, as well as tactical analysis and the occasional match report, although I am more likely to simply publish after-match thoughts rather than a full-blown report.

Although this blog focuses mainly on the Premier League, I will occasionally publish posts on players, teams and events from the other major leagues, especially during the Champions League.

The aim of this blog is start thinking about football and not to simply spam out meaningless posts to gain hits – I do this for the pleasure of it and nothing else. To this end reader input is encouraged so feel free to add your thoughts to the debate.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and hope you enjoy reading my content, comments and opinions are always welcome

UPDATE:

Unfortunately, due to problems with the software I’ve been using to run this blog I have been unable to post for a long time and it sort of slipped my mind. However, I recently got an email saying the problem had been fixed and returned to hundreds of positive comments, which are greatly appreciated. However, a number of comments are obviously from bots because I was unable to update my comment filtering whilst I was away. Because of this I don’t know how many if any of the comments left are actually real – if they are an email would be appreciated, I was considering giving this site up due to a lack of interest but obviously if these comments are real I would love to keep it going. Any feedback would be appreciated.
